"Blue Sky" 21 Guitar Solo Challenge

Inspired by the bird inlays on the neck of this guitar. I imagined what it must feel like to soar through the blue sky, high above the rainforest and waterways, diving through the clouds and skimming above the magnificent sparkling spray of Pacific waves in the summer.

Before I became a photographer and filmmaker, I played guitars and trumpets. I stopped playing the trumpet after middle school and stopped playing the guitar as I got busier in filmmaking. The guitar helped get me through the long strange days of isolation while undergoing chemotherapy in a global pandemic. I lost some feeling in my fingers from the chemo drugs and guitar playing was a fun way to assess my fine motor skills. I had forgotten how rewarding making music is. It's a way of expressing yourself without saying anything.
