Digital Electronics: OR Gate Logic Gates on Breadboard - Integrated Circuits

We will learn the theory of OR gate and then we will design it on a breadboard using OR Gate IC 7432.

A HIGH output (1) results only if one of the inputs to the OR gate are HIGH (1). If neither or only one input to the OR gate is HIGH, a high output results. In another sense, the function of OR effectively finds the maximum between two binary digits, just as the AND function finds the minimum between two binary digits. Therefore, the output is always 1, except when all the inputs are 0.

Working of the circuit in accordance with the truth table is also explained using simulation.

MAKING THE CIRCUIT-- For building OR AND gate circuit components used are:
1. BREADBOARD, Wires for connection.
2.100, 10K ohm resistor.
3. 7432 IC
4. LEDs
5. 5v RPS or 9v Battery
